New Skin Tones And LGBT & Disability Inclusive Emojis Coming Fall 2019

New ethnically diverse and LGBT and disability inclusive emojis are set to launch this fall.

According to Unicode, new emoji 12.0 data was released that shows 59 new emojis that include disability inclusive emojis of a deaf person and a person in a wheelchair. Along with some new foods and body fluids like a waffle and a drop of blood.

With 171 variants for gender and skin tone, this makes a total of 230 new emoji including variants including a wider spectrum of skin tones for people of all ethnic backgrounds.

The new emojis are listed in Emoji Recently Added v12.0 and vendors for mobile phones, PCs, and web platforms are expected to use images that fit their overall emoji designs.

The new emojis are expected to show up on mobile phones in September/October with some platforms possibly releasing them earlier.
